SET POINT ADJUSTMENT: THE OUTPUT SET POINT MAY BE ADJUSTED WITH THE REMOTE 1 K POTENTIOMETER PROVIDED OR WITH A 0-5 VDC SIGNAL TO THE J3 CONNECTOR ON THE STEPPER DRIVE CONTROL. MAKE CONNECTIONS TO J3-2( +) & J3-3(-). A NOMINAL +5 VDC SETPOINT SUPPLY IS AVAILABLE AT J3-1 (ADJUSTABLE AT TRIMPOT R22) 0-5V signal or 0-1K Potentiometer relate to approximately 0-100 percent rated output of the transformer. R22 Trimpot provides calibration to your signal. Relates to All SD series including SD1010, SD1210, SD1510, SD2510, SD1020, SD1220, SD1520, and SD2520

  2. I have one of your MV or FV systems with automatic regulation. Is there a way to turn off regulation and manually control such a system?

    Submitted by glx25v on Tue, 01/08/2019 - 12:55

The Controller Switch  turns off automatic regulation on our systems that include one of our automatic controllers.

Inside the cabinet there is a Manual Raise/Lower Switch that can be used when the Controller Switch is OFF to manually raise or lower output voltage.

  3. How long do brushes last in VARIAC transformers? How often should they be inspected?

    Submitted by glx25v on Fri, 10/12/2018 - 14:54

Typical brush life in most applications is several years even with heavy usage. Operation for many years with the original brushes is not unusual.

Periodic brush inspection is recommended depending on use and environment.  For most applications once per year is sufficient.  Applications where the brush is in constant movement,  operated with repeated periodic overloads and/or operated at high ambient temperatures may require more frequent inspections.
