How do I setup Commander to operate with a West/ Partlow MLC control system?

West/Partlow MLC

The MLC multi-loop control system easily interfaces with Commander Software. The Buss Communications Module must be one that provides for Modbus Communications.

Commander is compatible with both the single and Four loop Loop control modules (LCM).

Typical Communication settings:

Comm Port: As required

Link Speed: 9600 or 19200

Protocol: MODBUS RTU

Parity: None

Data Bits: 8

Stop Bits: 1

Slave ID: None

Six (6) Modbus Tables are included for communication with MLC Systems.

MLC9000 BCM: Buss Communication Module

MLC9000 (1) Loop LCM: For loop modules that control one loop only.

MLC9000 (4) Loop LCM (A): For first channel of a four input loop module.

MLC9000 (4) Loop LCM (B): For second channel of a four input loop module.

MLC9000 (4) Loop LCM (C): For third channel of a four input loop module.

MLC9000 (4) Loop LCM (D): For fourth channel of a four input loop module.

Each module uses (1) communication address. You must select the proper table for each module/loop to allow communications.

Example:

Below is an example of a 10 Loop MLC system using both single and four loop modules.

The next address that you can use if another control or system is to be added would be Address 6/Loop 12. The BCM is the only device that you must assign an address. The loop modules are assigned addresses depending on module type and position. One BCM and up to 8 loop modules are possible in a system.
