Navigation of the various modes of the 6100+/8100+/4100+ control.

Operation Modes 6100+, 8100+, 4100+

 

Operator Mode:

This is the mode used during normal operation of the instrument.

In most configurations only the setpoint can be changed. The range of setpoint change is limited to the range defined in the Setup Mode.

Press (Scroll) to move between parameters.

Use or to change parameters.

 

Operator mode is the default mode for the control. If the control is in one of the other modes and no buttons are pressed for two minutes the control will revert to operator mode.

You can force the unit to operator mode by:

Press and hold down then press then release both buttons.

Press or until upper display OPtr and lower display SLCt.

 

Press to enter Operator mode.

 

 

Other parameters that may be available based on your controls configuration:

SP1 & SP2 on Dual Setpoint controls
SPrP (Ramping Setpoint) if setpoint ramping is activated (display only)
rP (Setpoint ramp rate in units per hours)

Additional parameters may be available if a Custom Configuration is included in your control. Display Strategy in Configuration mode can also limit the ability for the operator to change parameters and how the information present on the displays.

 

 

Set Up Mode:

This mode allows the setting of PID (tuning) parameters, alarm settings and etc.

To enter this mode:

Press and hold down then press then release both buttons.

Press or until upper display SEtP and lower display SLCt.

 

Press and use or to enter the appropriate Unlock Code (ULoc) for the Set Up Mode. (Default as shipped is 10)

 

Press to enter the Set Up Mode.

Use or to change the values of the parameters.

Reverts to operator mode after 2 minutes of inactivity.

Automatic Tune Mode:

This mode allows the activation of Pre-Tune and Self-Tune.

To enter this mode:

Press and hold down then press then release both buttons.

Press or until upper display Atun and lower display SLCt.

 

Press and use or to enter the appropriate Unlock Code (ULoc) for the Auto Tune Mode. (Default as shipped is 0 - not locked)

 

Press to enter the Automatic Tune Mode.

Adjustable parameters are as follows:

Ptun (Pre-tune): On/Off (Process must be further than 5% of span from setpoint and setpoint cannot be ramping to allow this parameter to be set to On)


Stun (Self-tune): On/Off


TLoc (Tuning Lock Code) Change this numeric value and you are limiting acces to the Automatic Tuning Mode to personnel that know the Automatic Tune Mode Lock Code.

Use or to change the values of the parameters.

Reverts to operator mode after 2 minutes of inactivity.

 

 

 

Configuration Mode:

This mode allows the selection of input type and range and also selects output usage, scaling for linear inputs, programming of alarm types and communications settings.

Press and hold down then press , release both keys.

Use or to Navigate to Configuration Mode ConF (upper display)

Press

Enter the appropriate Unlock (ULoc) code for the configuration mode using Use or

(Configuration Unlock Code -- Default is 20)

 

 

Navigation in configuration mode:

Press to navigate between the various parameters (lower display).

 

Use or to change the parameter value (upper display).

Use to save a change.

Product Information Mode:

This mode is used to check hardware, firmware and manufacturing information for the instrument.

To enter this mode:

Press and hold down then press then release both buttons.

Press or until upper display inFo and lower display SLCt.

All parameters are read only and cannot be changed.

 

Reverts to operator mode after 2 minutes of inactivity.
