On my West 4400 I have lost my unlock code for entering the setup or the program modes. What can I do to retrieve?

The factory default setting for the controller's unlock code is 10. This number is entered at the Unlock screen, enabling access to the setup mode parameters. This number can be changed by the user to any value between 0 and 9999.
If you cannot remember your unlock code, try the default value of 10. If this does not work, enter *configuration mode and scroll through to the LOC parameter. This is a read only display of the lock code that you need for setup mode.

(* While in configuration mode, be sure not to change any of the parameters.)

1. Turn the controller off.

2. Re-apply power while holding down the SCROLL and UP ARROW keys. Do not release these keys until the upper display displays ConF.

3. Press the SCROLL key repeatedly until the lower display says LockCode. The middle display will show the current unlock code. This screen is "read only". The code can be changed later from setup mode if required.
(If Locks is set to 2 then (2) separate lock codes are in use. One for program parameters and one for control parameters. The lock codes will be displayed as Lock P and Lock C instead of LockCode.)

4. Exit from configuration mode by press in the SCROLL and UP ARROW keys together. The unit will run through its self-test routine and then return to normal operation.
