You are likely in the read only mode instead of the configuration mode or the input jumpers are in the wrong position.
Note: changing items in the configuration mode will clear all other settings.
To enter the configuration mode:
1) Remove power from instrument
2) Reapply power to instrument
3) While instrument is powering up Press and hold both the Scroll (circular arrow) and the Up arrow buttons. Hold these buttons until inPt is shown in lower display.
4) Release the buttons and then press and release the Scroll and the Down buttons (at the same time).
deFn should now be displayed in the lower display.
The hardware definition code is displayed in the upper display and can be changed with the arrow keys. Any changes must be confirmed by pressing the Auto/Manual button (Hand).
You will also need to check/change plug-in jumpers on the board to match the desired input selection.
