The following assumes that the transducer is a Gentran transducer with standard Gentran wiring.
Normally a large offset (High or low) signifies a damaged transducer or cable.
What is the voltage on the +SIG to -SIG terminals when attached to a transducer? It should be some where between -0.005 and 0.030V (-5 to 30mV) approximately.
You can also get some idea of the condition of the transducer by checking with a digital ohmmeter. Pull instrument out of housing or disconnect transducer wires.
Check Resistance as follows:
Green to White Wire = ??
Red to Black Wire = ??
These resistances should be very close to being the same when no pressure is present (Approximately 350 ohms).
You can also check at the transducer connector:
Terminal 1-2 = ?? ohms
Terminal 3-4 = ?? ohms
A significant difference in resistance readings indicates a damaged transducer or cable.
